Daily Music Dose - Boys Like Girls
First forming in 2005, from the town of Boston, Massachusetts, Boys Like Girls are anything but amateurs in this little world we like to call the music scene. With catchy choruses and addicting melodies, what more could you want out of a pop rock band?!

After reaching the #1 spot on Purevolume's Top Unsigned Artists Chart, Boys Like Girls caught the attention of Matt Squire (All Time Low, The Maine, 30H!3), who then produced their self-titled album in 2006 under Red Ink/Columbia Records. They then went on a national tour supporting Cute Is What We Aim For and received high praise while their single "The Great Escape" climbed the charts and eventually went platinum. While touring, they were able to release a DVD documentary entitled "Read Between The Lines" in 2008.
Luckily, BLG have not slowed down yet. Their sophmore album, Love Drunk, which was produced by Brian Howes (Hinder, Puddle Of Mudd, Rev Theory) and the duo S*A*M & Sluggo (The Academy Is, Cobra Starship, We The Kings), was released this past September before the band headlined the OP Tour the following month.
I have seen them twice already and they never fail to put on a spectacular live show, even though they could cut all the lights and pull out an acoustic guitar and do just as well. If you are a new fan, I would recommend trying out "Thunder" and "Two Is Better Than One" first by clicking on the music videos below. Or, if you're not a fan of acoustic songs, then I'm sure you will find "Five Minutes To Midnight" and "Shot Heard 'Round The World" just as satisfying. Either way, be sure to check out both of their CD's because there will most likely be at least one song that will quickly make the rounds on your iPod.
